District 5 Collegiate Chapters

Beta Theta, Central Michigan University
Beta Theta was installed on November 15, 1941, on the 40th anniversary of the national sorority's founding.  Beta Theta has its roots in the Rachel Tate Literary Society which began in 1924.  It became a local sorority, Sigma Pi Delta, in May 1940.  On June 15, 1941, President Emerita Wilma Wilson Sharp pledged the 19 women to Alpha Sigma Alpha and they were installed in 1941.  Beta Theta is the oldest chapter in District 5!

Delta Nu A, Kettering University
In April 1974, a local sorority became a colony of Alpha Sigma Alpha.  On May 10, 1975, Delta Nu-A was installed with 8 charter members.  It is one chapter with an A section and a B section.  Delta Nu-A is in school while Delta Nu-B is at work and vice versa.

Delta Nu B, Kettering University
Delta Nu-B was a colony of Alpha Sigma Alpha and installed with 9 charter members on May 10, 1975.  It was recolonized in 1991.  The 1980 national convention was the first time Delta Nu-A and Delta Nu-B were recognized as separate chapters.

Delta Sigma, Saginaw Valley State University
Delta Sigma was installed on March 15, 1980.  It closed in 1981 when all national sororities on campus at that time disbanded.  It was reinstalled on April 5, 1997 with 32 collegians and 1 alumna.

Zeta Tau, Grand Valley State University

A local sorority, Alpha Beta Chi began in 1993 with 7 founding members.  In November 1997, the group was admitted into the campus Panhellenic Council.  They decided in the fall of 1998 that they would join Alpha Sigma Alpha and went through the Phoenix degree in November of that year. They were installed as the Zeta Tau Chapter on March 27, 1999 with 28 charter initiates and 11 charter alumnae initiates.
