“At a Glance” on new ASA Advantage Updates

ü    New annual involvement hours – Instead of 100 hours of involvement per year, it will only be 50 hours.  25 hours of community service and 25 hours of activities based on the Four Aims

ü    Elimination of required activities – None of the activities in the member manual are “required” now.  Members may choose any of the activities listed to complete their 25 hours.

ü    Elimination of Advantage Teams – These teams have been eliminated.  Members should now be encouraged to use Big/Little Sister or Pearl/Ruby relationships to work on Advantage activities together

ü    Expansion of Activities – New activities have been added throughout the initiate module and senior modules.  Also, some activities have been eliminated.

ü    Expansion of Capstones – Members in the initiate and new member modules may choose from a variety of activities for capstones.

ü    Rearranged New Member Module – This module has been rearranged so it flows better and creates more of a natural progression. 

ü    Revamp of Alumnae Module – The alumnae capstone has been deleted and the module contains more of a continued learning focus. 

ü    New jewelry – The Advantage bar pin has been eliminated. Star dangles are now offered online with our other jewelry for each level of completion.

ü     ASA Profile – The history and heritage section of the new member learning experience has been added, through the Profile section.  The CD-ROM has been eliminated.
