Hi, my name is Vanessa Gembarski and I am a 2005 graduate of Central Michigan University and the Beta Theta Chapter. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Geography-Environmental and Land Use Planning, with a minor in Natural Resources. I joined ASA in the fall of 2002 and it is one of the best things I've ever done. I was the historian my initiate semester and later held positions as sisterhood and athletics chair, served on the Standards Board for two years, and was also on many committees including our spring formal committee my senior year.

I grew up in the small, resort town of Port Austin, MI with my parents, younger sister Jody, our chocolate lab Benson, and many other pets. I have been living in Traverse City since I accepted a job in October 2005 and I'm working as the Planning and Zoning Administrator for Whitewater Township in Grand Traverse County. I enjoy spending time with my friends and boyfriend as much as possible, watching movies (mainly comedies), summer evening walks (especially along beautiful Lake Michigan), dancing, laughing, reading, and basically anything that gets me outside. I like to keep busy and simply enjoy life as much as possible.
